Sealants

Both children and adults can benefit from sealants in the fight against tooth decay.

Sealants are a simple procedure and are highly effective in preventing decay on the biting surfaces of your chewing teeth. The sealant procedure simply involves coating the surface of the teeth with a tooth-colored acrylic. This “seals” the deep grooves and acts as a barrier that protects enamel from plaque and acids.

Sealants protect the deep depressions and grooves of your teeth which are the areas that are highly susceptible to plaque entrapment and subsequent decay.

Easy to apply (and requires no numbing up), sealants take only a few minutes to seal each tooth. Sealants hold up well under the force of normal chewing and can last many years before a reapplication is needed.
